More than $ 80 million in Cryptocurrency has been stolen after a cyber attack on cross-chain Bridge project Orbit chain.

The attackers stole 26,741.6 from Ether (ETH), which were transferred to five portfolio addresses, and transferred approximately 15,498,358 DAI (a stablecoin on the Ethereum -Blockchain) to three addresses. This is worth around $ 84.5 million at the current prices.
Orbit chain, which was founded in South Korea in 2018, revealed that it tried to communicate with the hackers and deliver two messages to them. It also works with law enforcement and global security experts to detect and freeze the stolen assets.
Users were warned that any repayment claims that are currently circulating are scammers and told customers to refer to the official page of the Orbit Chain for updates.
Perpetrators in general
In a series of updates on January 2, Orbit Chain said that the stolen assets remained unmoved.
“Our team constantly keeps the stolen actively, and we promise to inform the community as soon as the address that has been linked to the stolen active action has taken”, the company posted on X.
De Blockchain added that it developed a system for investigating support and cause analysis at the Korean National Police Agency and Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), in addition to working with domestic and international law enforcement authorities.
“To solve this problem, the orbit chain team will use all available methods to detect the hackers and restore the funds,” the company promised.
It also insisted on all members of the Orbit Chain community and the web3 ecosystem to distribute this information as broadly as possible.
There are currently no indications about who may be behind the attack.
However, it is known from North Korea-Lied actors that they have been behind numerous high-profile cryptocurrency thefts, since 2017 stealing $ 3 billion stems published by the Insikt Group of Recorded Future.
