Nowadays, the government of Norway announced The plans to introduce a temporary ban on setting up new Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency mini -construction centers.
The government concluded that it was better to divert electricity to other industries and economic sectors and that it would be better for the national interest.
“The government of the Labor Party has a clear intention to limit the mining of cryptocurrency in Norway as much as possible,” said the Minister for Digitization and Public Administration Karianne Tung.
The ruling Labor party has attributed the coming prohibition on excessive electricity consumption by power-intensive bitcoin and crypto-mining activities, which it says that it offers little benefit to the wider economy.
“Cryptocurrency mining is very power-intensive and generates few jobs and income for the local community,” she added.
“A temporary ban could be introduced in the autumn of 2025,” the government said.
